So, where did the summer go? I feel as though just yesterday I was sitting with colleagues on the evening of May 1, grateful that another successful recruitment season had come to a close.
Now here we are, on the cusp the next recruitment cycle, and I have to say — I’M EXCITED. This year’s incoming class is the most technology-savvy, forward thinking group of students ever to be recruited for college. They are ready for us to dazzle them with authenticity and to share with them our institution’s story and how it can be theirs. That’s what we do, right? We provide each prospective student with the information that they need to make a truly informed decision about where to attend college.
So we enter this new recruitment phase in the midst of what seems to be an economic recovery. However, in meeting with visiting students over the last several weeks, I would suggest that some of the fears that existed twelve months ago still remain. And they will continue to persist as well. They’ve heard the stories of friends and colleagues who went through the process last year and after that are now prepared for the worst. Our goal? To calm their fears by providing the absolute best customer service possible. That’s what it’s always been, right?
It’s August 18. Sure, we’ve been in the midst of preparation all summer, but now is the time when we kick it into gear. The road warriors are fueling up the company cars.
255 days. Which question are you asking yourself today? The one I included in the title of this post, or maybe…
It’s travel season… again!
I’ve heard it best put this way: just go out and crush it. There are students who are depending on you to do so.
Andrew, great post… Love the “It’s travel season…Again!!!! (exclamation point)
In the midst of booking travel which starts next week and is nonstop until early November..
Maybe we’ll cross paths this semester.
Thanks, Joe! It was nice to meet you at eduWeb this year. Best wishes as you head out for your big travel this fall.
